Across ten seasons, Paul played 208 games (the seventh most by a Fremantle player), and kicked 131 goals. He won a record four Ross Glendinning Medals, two Geoff Christian Medals, the AFL Rising Star Award in 2000, All-Australian selection in 2003 and the Larke Medal in 1999.

Paul was also the senior coach for South Fremantle in the WAFL between 2011 and 2014.

Since his retirement, Paul has moved into the media. Between 2016 and 2017, he was the Senior Football Expert for ABC Radio, and since 2017 he has been the co-host for SportsDay WA along with former West Coast player Karl Langdon.
