Matthew Parker is a dynamic Australian rules footballer known for his versatility, athleticism, and impact across multiple levels of the game. Born on January 25, 1996, Matthew has built a career defined by resilience and adaptability, excelling as both a forward and midfielder.

Hailing from Melville, Western Australia, Matthew made his mark with South Fremantle in the WAFL, showcasing his natural talent and ability to influence games. His performances at state level earned him a spot in the 2018 AFL National Draft, where he was selected by St Kilda with pick No. 47.


Matthew made an immediate impact in his debut AFL season, playing 17 games in 2019 and kicking 16 goals. His speed, pressure, and goal sense made him a valuable addition to St Kilda’s forward line. He played two more games in 2020 before being delisted at the end of the season.

Determined to continue his AFL journey, Parker returned to South Fremantle, where his standout performances led to his selection by Richmond in the 2021 AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft. Making his debut for the Tigers in Round 18 of the 2021 season, he added another dimension to his game by spending more time through the midfield. Matthew played 11 games and kicked seven goals for Richmond before making the decision to return home to Western Australia in mid-2022 to prioritize family.

Rejoining South Fremantle in the WAFL, Matthew remains a key player, bringing leadership, experience, and high-level skill to the club. His time in the AFL has only strengthened his game, and he continues to be a driving force for the Bulldogs.

Matthew’s journey is one of perseverance and commitment, making him a respected figure in Australian football both at the state and national levels.
