Name: Jamaine Jones

Sport: AFL

Team: West Coast Eagles

Bio:

Originally recruited by Geelong in 2018, Jamaine made his AFL debut in Round 10, 2018, Jamaine played 7 games kicking 4 goals in his time at Kardinya Park before making the switch to the West Coast Eagles in March 2020 as a Supplementary Selection Period rookie. His determination and adaptability saw him progress to the senior list, and he became a key contributor during his time in blue and gold.

Jamaine enjoyed a standout season in 2022 with the West Coast Eagles, finishing ninth in the John Worsfold Medal after a shift from the forward line to defence. Known for his versatility, Jones was a handy utility for coach Adam Simpson, capable of playing across both ends of the ground. His exceptional pace and skilful left foot allowed him to make an impact wherever he was stationed, solidifying his place in the Eagles' senior list.

In his time at West Coast, Jamaine was known for his high work rate and ability to bring the ball out of defence with precision. He was part of the team’s rebuilding efforts and worked hard to offer flexibility to the squad. Unfortunately, following the conclusion of the 2024 season, Jamaine was delisted by the Eagles.

Throughout his career, Jamaine demonstrated his potential as a dynamic and reliable player, leaving a mark with both Geelong and West Coast during his AFL journey.

Jamaine will be playing for the South Fremantle Football Club in the WAFL for the 2025 season, with hopes of being selected in the AFL mid-season draft.
